Abstract

The South is the place where many different cultural values of Vietnam converge and are born. Among the pieces of Southern culture, religion created by the Vietnamese people in the late 19th and early 20th centuries has become a rare phenomenon in the historical process of this land in particular and of Vietnam in general. Therefore, indigenous religions quickly became the subject of many issues to help researchers continue to clarify the spiritual life of the people of the South in particular and the cultural picture of the South in general in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. With the desire to contribute a small part to the study of the religious life of the people of the South, we wrote this article to clarify the conditions of formation and characteristics of indigenous religions of the South in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
