VIETNAM PETROLEUM SUPPLY CHAIN: SITUATION AND SOLUTION

Abstract

Vietnam's petroleum market is a complex market with many management levels and policies always fall behind the market fluctuations of supply and demand. In particular, at sensitive times such as the end of 2022 when foreign exchange reserves reached the lowest level and bank interest rates skyrocketed, the shortage of gasoline spread across many provinces forced people to queue endlessly to fullfill their vehicles. People's lives and the transportation industry are severely negatively affected and this situation continues until the beginning of 2023. The author utilizes materials compiled from many local and international sources to find out influencing factors as well as inadequacies in the petroleum supply chain of Vietnam. Then, the study will propose some solutions to help the government run the market better and prevent the crisis of gasoline shortage from recurring in the future.
