LOCAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE CO TU PEOPLE IN QUANG NAM PROVINCE IN THE MANAGEMENT AND USE OF LAND RESOURCES

Abstract

Natural resources constitute the foundation for human existence. Among various forms of natural resources, land is not only a primary means of production but also a basis for establishing social relations and preserving community cultural identity. Accordingly, similar to other ethnic minorities in Vietnam, through a long history of settlement in the mountainous areas of Quang Nam, the Co Tu people have accumulated a rich body of knowledge related to the management and use of land resources. This indigenous knowledge reflects the close interconnection between economic, social, environmental, and spiritual dimensions, while also demonstrating a flexible adaptation to natural conditions
