The Happiness Index is increasingly recognized as a key indicator of quality of life and sustainable development, particularly for university students who are highly sensitive to social changes. However, its measurement in Vietnamese higher education remains inconsistent and underdeveloped. This study aims to develop and validate a culturally appropriate 7-point happiness scale for the context of HUFLIT. The findings contribute to establishing a theoretical framework for happiness in Vietnamese higher education, while also offering practical implications for educational administrators and policymakers in enhancing students’ mental well-being and holistic development.
